TESCO Bill – Tribal Areas Electric Supply Company

Tribal Areas Electric Supply Company (TESCO) distributes electricity across the seven former Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) agencies, which were merged into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in May 2018. These areas were previously excluded from most national service standards and infrastructure development, and TESCO continues to manage one of Pakistan’s most underserved electricity networks.

TESCO operates under the WAPDA distribution system and uses the PITC (Pakistan Information Technology Company) online billing portal at bill.pitc.com.pk. To retrieve your TESCO duplicate bill, enter the 14-digit reference number printed on your monthly electricity bill in the checker provided above.

TESCO Electricity Tariff (Domestic Consumers)

TESCO domestic consumers are billed under the same NEPRA-approved national tariff applicable to all DISCOs. The current domestic slab rates are:

GST (17%), fuel price adjustments (FPA), and quarterly tariff adjustments apply on top of base unit rates.

Electricity Infrastructure in Merged Tribal Districts

The merged districts inherited significant infrastructure deficits. Historically, FATA areas had some of the lowest electrification rates in Pakistan, and TESCO has been operating under emergency improvement programmes funded by USAID and the federal government since the 2018 merger.

Load-shedding in TESCO areas has traditionally been more severe than in other DISCOs due to lower recovery rates, aging infrastructure, and significant transmission and distribution (T&D) losses. The government has set targets to bring T&D losses in merged districts below 20% by 2027 under the energy sector reform agenda.
